Welcome to the 2024 Season

On behalf of our entire team and coaching staff, I want to welcome you to our upcoming season. Our belief is that we’ll continue to learn the game of softball and compete each day. We look forward to you joining us.

Getting started

Whether your an incoming student-athlete, parent or potential player we encourage to join our mailing list. When you join we will send you a confirmation email to verify your mail address. Follow the instructions in the email and you’ll be all set to receive updates. Our messages are sent from info@slvsoftball.com. Add us to your address book and check your spam settings if you do not receive a verification email.

Student-Athlete Paperwork

Every student-athlete must submit the proper athletic paperwork prior to the beginning of the season. This includes reviewing the athletic code, filling out the proper permission forms and getting a physical. This paperwork is available on the high school athletic website.

Winter Workout Program

Our winter workout program is on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 4:00 PM on the SLVHS softball field and weight room. These workouts are not specific to softball and will improve overall fitness for all athletes. We focus on overall strength, flexibility and injury prevention. Workouts begin the first Tuesday or Thursday in November and continue through the third week of January.

Spring Softball

The 2023 Softball tryouts begin January 30th at 3:15 PM on the high school softball field. Athletes should come prepared with proper softball gear including athletic shoes, cleats (rubber or metal), glove, full length pants. If you need help with these items we have a selection of equipment from past seasons available for use.

Fall Sports

We encourage all of our student-athletes to participate in other sports during the fall and winter seasons. We feel you become a better athlete playing multiple sports and an athlete who participates in different sports gains the perspectives and values unique to each. We feel there is less risk of overuse injuries and burnout playing multiple sports.

Bingo

SLV Bingo is the primary fundraising event for our SLV Booster Club. Without Bingo our sports programs would be severely impacted.

The Boosters Club helps with SCCAL, CCS and CIF league participation fees, umpire and referee fees and donates towards capital improvements and equipment for all sports. For softball, they help us purchase uniforms, balls, bats, hitting nets, bases, whiffle balls, catchers gear and other equipment we need to be successful.
Running the Bingo requires a tremendous number of volunteers each week.

Our bingo dates for 2023 are March 13th, March 20th, and March 27th. We will need 4 volunteers each night. You can sign up here: volunteersignup.org/D9HTC
