SLV Walks Away Victorious Over St. Francis, 7-2

The Cougars took home a 7-2 victory over St. Francis on Thursday.

SLV scored three runs in the fourth inning. Batters contributing to the big inning included Ashley Welch and Jami Van Eyck, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Welch took the win for SLV. She went seven innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, striking out five and walking one. Shelby Velasco took the loss for St. Francis. She went six innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and striking out five.

Jillian Francis went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Cougars in hits.

Claire Cagnacci led St. Francis with three hits in three at bats.

Cougars Nab Win Over Monte Vista Christian Despite 3-Run Inning

The Cougars claimed a 8-4 victory on Wednesday, despite a big push by Monte Vista Christian in the seventh inning. Monte Vista Christian scored its runs on a home run by S Baer.

The Cougars got things started in the first inning. Hailey Lang hit a solo homer. The Cougars tallied four runs in the fourth inning. Jillian Francis and Ashley Welch all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Welch earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for SLV Cougars (V). She surrendered zero runs on three hits over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Madison Reger threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

M Romo started the game for Monte Vista Christian. She went three innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking zero. The Cougars tallied three home runs on the day. Lang had a homer in the first inning. Francis went for the long ball in the fourth inning. Welch put one out in the fourth inning. Monte Vista Christian launched two home runs on the day. I Hollingsworth put one out in the sixth inning. Baer had a homer in the seventh inning.

SLV Cougars (V) had 13 hits in the game. Lang, Jami Van Eyck, Welch, Francis, and Zoe Mendez all managed multiple hits for SLV Cougars (V). Mendez, Francis, Welch, Van Eyck, and Lang each managed two hits to lead SLV Cougars (V). SLV Cougars (V) didn’t commit a single error in the field. Mendez had ten chances in the field, the most on the team.

Monte Vista Christian tallied nine hits on the day. Baer and Hollingsworth all collected multiple hits for Monte Vista Christian. Baer went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Monte Vista Christian in hits.

Cougars Three Pitchers Combine In No-Hitter To Gain Victory Over Harbor

SLV Cougars (V) defeated Harbor 11-0 on Tuesday, as three pitchers teamed up to throw a no-hitter. Madison Reger struck out C Ramos to get the last out of the game. 

SLV Cougars (V) secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the fourth inning. Hailey Lang, Jalie Edgemon, Reger, Alura Neill, Jillian Francis, and Zoe Mendez all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

In the first inning, SLV Cougars (V) got their offense started. Mendez hit a solo homer. SLV Cougars (V) tallied eight runs in the fourth inning. SLV Cougars (V) offense in the inning was led by Lang, Edgemon, Reger, Neill, Francis, and Mendez, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Reger pitched SLV Cougars (V) to victory. She surrendered zero runs on zero hits over four and a third innings, striking out 12 and walking zero.

Edgemon came into the game for SLV Cougars. She went two-thirds of an inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out two and walking one.

SLV Cougars (V) racked up ten hits. Francis, Mendez, and Hannah Gallagher all managed multiple hits for SLV Cougars (V). Francis went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead SLV Cougars (V) in hits. SLV Cougars (V) was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Jami Van Eyck made the most plays with 15.

Jalie Edgemon Drives In Five As SLV Cougars (V) Defeats Santa Cruz

Jalie Edgemon was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Monday, driving in five on two hits to lead SLV Cougars (V) past Santa Cruz 19-3 on Monday. Edgemon drove in runs on a double in the first, a double in the second, and a groundout in the fourth.

SLV Cougars (V) got things started in the first inning. Jillian Francis hit a solo homer. SLV Cougars (V) tallied seven runs in the fourth inning. The rally was led by singles by Zoe Mendez, Katrina Heinemann, Madison Reger, and Hailey Lang, a sac fly by Hannah Gallagher, and a groundout by Edgemon.

Ashley Welch was credited with the victory for SLV Cougars (V). She surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out four and walking zero. Edgemon threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

SLV Cougars (V) hit three home runs on the day. Mendez had a long ball in the second inning. Francis had a homer in the first inning. Welch went yard in the third inning. SLV Cougars (V) tallied 16 hits. Jami Van Eyck, Edgemon, Mendez, Alura Neill, Lang, and Welch each managed multiple hits for SLV Cougars (V). Van Eyck led SLV Cougars (V) with three hits in three at bats.
Zoe Fairlie went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Santa Cruz in hits.
